Pandemic or Panicdemic

COVID-19 renounced as a pandemic is actually a "panic-demic".  In order to save lives, livelihood was compromised.

A flue which otherwise would have passed by even without noticing got its attention when few videos which were identified as people in Wuhan walking through the street like Zombies and falling unconsciously on the street.  These images caught people's attention but were taken over by media as priority news. Recently it is unscientifically proved that news travels faster than light and COVID became prime time debate topic.

Statistics show that the world mortality rate in 2019 is 150,000 per day of which 100,000 die of age-related causes. Compare this to the Covid-19 cases and it is below par. Due to the panic actions, the cause of death for the majority of the cases are not identified as no post-mortem was not done for these cases. Though the virus was detected in the body most of the death was caused due to comorbidity.

Health care in developed countries are expensive and people try to avoid doctor visit and hospitalization due to the high cost which resulted in such mortality rate.

When hospitals are packed with COVID cases, cases that need intensive attention were ignored or unable to attend due to the volume cases which resulted in the mortality rate.

Lack of vitamin-D in the body also resulted in the escalation of the virus in the body. Vitamin-D normally high in tropical countries due to the availability of sunlight.

The virus will stay for a while until vaccination is developed. Till then almost everyone will get it infected but might not show symptoms or will get used to it as a normal flue.

The aftermath of this panic-demic is an economic downturn, total reset of the system, and thought processes. Ailing businesses use it as an excuse to close down.  Companies in order to improve bottom-line use the opportunity to downsize without hampering the corporate image.
Expatriates return to the home country and will undergo reskilling to find a livelihood.

The world need to wait and see how it evolves into the year 2021 but certainly, for Avenger fans it is like Thanos hit a reset button to save the planet.
